Crimson Rose

As I walk into the yellow desert for days
I witness that which leaves me in a gaze

A red flower dancing in the desert sand
Such a rich red color, I don’t understand

I shall save her from the heat, I will not fail
Her red hair falls back, it’s reaching her tail

She lives in these sands, the desert rose
I follow the sun but, her, the sun follows

She sings and makes the snakes dance
The scorpions and foxes lose all stance

Crimson flower what truth is it that you seek?
Whisper, no need for them to hear you speak

My selfish desire wants you for myself alone
Take the desert and you may have its thrown

Crimson beauty is that heart of yours as red?
I ask that you take mine to make two instead

Does the sun rise to shine through your hair?
May mine eyes go blind as they forever stare

Crimson angel, do you bathe in the red sea?
The oceans fold and cry, reeking of jealousy

My longing for you, Persia to this Alexander
You’re not any flower, my Crimson Oleander
