Splash

Close your eyes, and slowly drift into an abyss
One that lies within the mind then listen to this

Focus on God and His presence in your path
A glimpse of faith arrives, now see His wrath

I hold my hands up so high to His sky
One could say it is close enough to fly

A missing part detached, from self, to be
Is mostly what blind men like myself see

It suddenly rains, the drops fall on my fingers
This feeling, very cold and heavy drop lingers

The drop runs down my fingers and so
Proud little drop, how far could you go?

Cold, I feel it marking its path so clear
It makes a swift sound you can’t hear

Seconds from dropping down my arm
It feels no sense of fear, shock or alarm

Wet trail like a watermark on my skin
And within the drop its contents spin

It runs off my elbow and falls to the ground
My spine jitters, it shakes from that sound

The drop spins and twirls before the crash
It hits the ground as loud as it can, splash!
