Bird

Flying in the sky was a bird so young
It could sing for hours with its tongue

she knew her melodies from the start
Melodies that would melt your heart

Sing for our poor ears, oh bird sing!
Look at the joy your voice can bring!

This bird was pure, so happy and free
How could it be real? How could it be?

Is it from heaven that cometh this bird?
Were those the songs of heaven I heard?

Look at her flying faster than all
God forbid that one day you fall

Then I saw what my eyes could never bear
I was frozen in my place, I could only stare

The poor bird fell down from the sky so fast
I thought all her singing would be of the past

I saw her trying to regain her control
But all she did was struggle and roll

She fell on the ground harder than a rock!
As if she was a bug getting hit by a truck!

Her wings broke and a scream she screamed
No song of happiness tonight was streamed

Trying to fly back, but she ran out of luck
Her white wings in the mud were stuck

Then a fox came with a bag of seeds
Is that a kind fox that a bird it feeds?

It’s not, a fox is a killer in this place
You can see the evil all over his face

Do not trust the first that comes to your aid
Think of how my bird, by the fox, was slayed
