1- The Villager’s Demon

Walking alone on a sunny day
A man who has nothing to say

He sees the sun shining down
Life’s beautiful, he shan’t frown

But behind him was such a sight
That will fill all people with fright

A monster destroyed his villages of all places
He no longer remembered, the peoples’, faces

Then came to him a demon in red
And with a little grin, he slowly said

“Greetings villager, you seem dead to the core!
I should eat you and in my belly should I store!”

The villager had such depression he said:
“No you can’t, I tried to save them, I tried!”

I will let you live if you can walk a mile in my shoes
Or I could just eat you but that is for you to choose

The villager agreed then waited for long
The Demon’s smile started to get strong

His smile stretched his face from one ear to another
The villager wanted to ask why but just didn’t bother

You have failed the test from the start
Now I can enjoy feasting on your heart

The shocked man said: what test? Did you even say?
The Demon smiled and said: I have no shoes anyway

The villager gave-in, became the demon’s food
He could have lived if the riddle he’d understood
