Drugged

Needle, I take the drugs into my arm
I thought I would feel a sense of alarm

Not really, surprisingly it feels too well
At first, it hurt and then started to swell

I feel it all, pumping in my veins
Fast yet gentle, like when it rains

Is this what makes men addicted?
I knew it, yet this, I never predicted

It is an addict, a believer, and a lover,
That feels like a cloud that can hover

Let it end here, a peaceful resting to be
After it wears off, there’s nothing to see
