Possessing

Fade into nothingness, brother in sin
Where else can we possibly blend in?

Be the shadow of the sun, so you vanish
Now this light of yours, you must banish

Nothing stays the same, all will perish
You’ll lose things you think you cherish

Will there be sadness in your loss? Indeed
For no blood can be seen unless you bleed

Cut off your heart, with a knife so sharp
Now you cannot read this in rhyme, see?

No matter how you try, you will be dead
A lover is true for what he did, not said

Slowly this pen I write with will vanish too
Who writes with my hand? Who are you?

Strange how these poems feel so distant
As if I don’t recognize them in an instant

Someone takes my hand and writes
Yet my body goes along, never fights

What power is this of a drive that leads
Is this the fruit of your life, or the seeds?

Either way, time is up, I feel it leaving away
Too bad, so I guess these Angels can’t stay
