Fish

The lover dies in this path for the beloved of all
Death is an end to love, for death you can’t stall

A golden fish swims in her water so freely
This, the Mediterranean she loves so dearly

The fish of divinity fear not the sinking ship
Nor hunters who over their anchor, they tip

She travels the sea and finds herself ashore
It shines the golden sand on its golden core

Fish:
Oh, heavenly shore is this your beauty, path?
Can I climb to you or will I face God’s wrath?

What world do you hide there on the ground?
Tell me, God! Why to the waters am I bound?

Allow this fish freedom, bring me to your side,
I swear to You my love, I will by the rules abide

She hears her granting and jumps out, splash!
A rule of love is that in the sands she’ll smash

So abiding she does, as she flies out of the sea
On the beach she dies, a death there must be

Her breath runs out as she sees the shoreline
A shiver of warm death runs across her spine

Her mouth opens up for water but only air flows
Above her, she sees angels flying, but are crows

For this love, you must give up all that you are
For love is as far from you as the closest star
