Lullaby of Heaven

Lord, Thy angels hath vanished from mine sight
The tension of mine pulse rises to infinite height

Every day I awake, Thy heaven’s door close more
Strike me then with Thine mercy! Strike my core!

Freedom is not for one to do what they please
‘Tis to serve God without shackles that freeze

This is His freedom, a gift to the loyal and weak
A gift from Thee is beyond words, I cannot speak

I sit in the boat of life on His wise ocean of fate
Even if Thine waters burn, I shall never feel hate

Who is a fool to hate a Creator so kind and sweet?
I will step into Thy ocean, burn my flesh and meat

As I step on the ocean, I seem to stand on it free
Is this feeling, my Lord, what true freedom is to be?

Am I free of the chain of materials and life’s curse
Earth punishes all. But my life, how will it amerce?

Do you hear, brother in faith, the hymns of serenity?
When shall we realize His true kindness and lenity?

The ocean absorbs me into its belly like a godsend
Tell me God, when will I reach my destiny, my end?
