Only Darkness Consumes

Falling down a branch, a single leaf
It falls on the ground, it’s in disbelief

A wingless bird watches others fly
It dreams of being back in the sky

The moon chases its sun, so bright
But it never catches up to that light

The lover searches for His Spring
Words of the lover, in his ear, ring

One’s hand reaches out, nothing to grab
A butcher with his knife, nothing to stab

Light follows its love, darkness, to mate
Turn daily, a day you love, a day you hate

Music plays for others, but there’s no air
How will it get to the people? How unfair

Lonely child, adult, and elder, all are weak
Slaves of the earth, why not try to speak?

Only God and the Angel of Death can hear
They know all that you learn, love and fear

Angel of Death, liberate me to God, I sigh
Only you can take me, to Him, up so high

“Let me take all your sadness, no need to cry
But let me ask you, care to give death a try?”
